What if there were coloring books for our little girls and young women, that inspired them to love their natural hair? I do not know if a coloring book like this already exist - but if they do, please reply to this post, and let us know the Title of the book and the Authors name, so we can look it up. Until then, I thought it would be great to start a collection of Natural Hair Drawings that can be printed out and given to our kids, so they can color them in. Here are few sketches to start off with (see artist credits below):
I will continue to add drawings to an online album, that I will create on the Naturally Beautiful Hair facebook page, to add to this collection. If you have a great sketch or know of an artist that has great sketches, please contact me at naturalhairbeauty@gmail.com. Or you can post the photo on the N.B.H. Facebook wall.

Here are a few of my own sketches, that will make great print outs for coloring pages. Enjoy!

Kids Corner – Make your Conditioner!
Natural Ingredients Hair Conditioner
By Ms. NB
Here is the recipe she tried:
1/4 cup water
1 egg
1/8 cup baby oil
1/8 cup extra virgin olive oil
"Mix these ingredients until smooth. It may be watery, but that is ok. After you shampoo your hair, rinse it out well. Then part your hair into 3 to 4 sections. Work the condition mixture into each section by rubbing it in all the way." Leave the conditioner in and style while wet or when dry. I have not tried this recipe myself, but her hair was very soft after using the conditioner that she made using the ingredients above. Here is what she had to say after using the conditioner. "Your hair will feel soft and will make people behind you want to touch your hair. It is especially good for ladies with curly or wavy hair.” – Ms. NB

Emma's Twist
Barbara from Chasing Metamorphosis, did a twist-out for her daughter Emma's hair, for the last Bay Area Natural Hair event. And it was gorgeous! Barbara talks a little bit about how they achieved the look - "I add some moisturizer (Organics Root Stimulator Shea Butter Detangler Moisturizing Lotion) and then twisted her hair." Before Emma went to bed, she put on a satin bonnet and then twist where taking out the next day. "I took some coconut oil in my hands and ran it down the length of each twist before untwisting. I separated each twists a bit for volume, threw a couple of green flower barrettes on the side and she was ready to rock her natural!"
Thanks Barbara. I love this style. And it is perfect for Emma... :-)
